There are two courses available for Math in IBDP – Applications and Interpretation (AI), and Analysis and Approaches (AA). They are taught throughout two academic years, and are further divided into Standard Level and Higher Level respectively. Regardless of their differences, both courses require a solid grasp of mathematical knowledge, and logical and abstract thinking skills, which students can achieve with the aid of our IB Math tutors.
Both courses share the same components:
SL candidates sit two papers, while HL candidates sit three. Depending on what your child seeks to study at university, they may choose a different course based on their needs and interests. For example, a student who wishes to study the Sciences, Engineering or Mathematics later may opt for AA, which has a stronger emphasis on analysis and reasoning, while one who wants to study arts and humanities may go for AI, which focuses more on application.
Regardless of which course your child is taking, we understand that it is a challenging journey and you may want to support their learning. Our IB Math tutors have extensive experience in helping students excel in both courses, helping them to identify areas of struggle and to assist them on the challenging course. Our IB Math tutors can help deepen your child’s understanding of the range of topics on the syllabus, and to support them along the way so that they can do well in their final exams.
