Course length: 15 hours

These subject-specific courses support primary and secondary school students on English, math and science. Classes are personalized and will follow your child’s school curriculum. Our tutors will help students stay on top of the concepts they learn in school, excel in assignments, and build strong foundations that are essential for academic success. Additional hours are available for purchase, if needed.

Reading & Writing Course

Suitable for: Year 7-10 | Grade 6-9
Format: One-on-One | In Person or Online
Course Length: 15 hours

This course will take on a personalized approach to strengthen students’ reading comprehension and writing to build a better foundation for classroom and exam success. It will cover genres commonly studied at school, including prose, poetry, drama and literary nonfiction. Students will learn to analyze, organize and edit texts and refine their language usage. It will also cover the basics of drafting a literary analysis essay, including proper citation usage.

Vocabulary Booster Course

Suitable for: Year 5-9 | Grade 4-8
Format: One-on-One | In Person or Online
Course Length: 15 hours

This course is designed to give students a big boost to their vocabulary. It will cover grade-appropriate vocabulary and help students understand how words are formed. Through fun and interactive explanations and exercises, students will learn about roots, prefixes, suffixes, and analogies which will equip them for success in academic settings and standardized tests such as the MAP, SCAT, ISEE and SSAT. Students will also learn the skills needed to continue strengthening their vocabulary on their own well beyond this course. 

Math Booster Course (Middle School)

Suitable for: Year 6-9 | Grade 5-6
Format: One-on-One | In Person or Online
Course Length: 15 hours

In this math booster course, students will review fundamental concepts to prepare for high school math courses and standardized exams. This course is ideal for students who need to fill gaps in their middle school math education or are seeking to get a head start on high school math. Lessons will be tailored to each student’s particular needs. The course is example and practice-based, with a focus on commonly-missed topics.

IB MYP Courses

These subject-specific courses take on a personalized approach to support students on IB MYP subjects. MAP Test Prep Course

For students taking the MAP entrance exams for international schools or for ongoing internal assessments. This course will take on a customized approach to cover grade-appropriate concepts in math, reading, and language usage to ensure success on the MAP test. It will also cover test taking strategies, along with plenty of practice under timed conditions.

CAT4 Test Prep Course

Suitable for: Year 4-8 | Grade 3-7
Format: One-on-One | In Person or Online
Course length: 12 hours

For students who are preparing to take the CAT4 test for entrance into international schools in Hong Kong. This course will take on a tailored approach to cover all verbal, non-verbal, quantitative, and spatial reasoning question types. The course will also cover test taking skills, along with plenty of practice under timed conditions.

UK Boarding School Reasoning Test Prep Course

Suitable for: Year 5-9 | Grade 4-8
Format: One-on-One | In Person or Online
Course length: 15 hours

This course is designed for students who are preparing to take entrance tests for UK boarding schools. Taking on a customized approach, this course will teach all the skills you will need to know to tackle verbal, non-verbal, quantitative, and spatial reasoning questions. Students will also learn test taking skills and receive plenty of practice under timed conditions.

SCAT Test Prep Course (Elementary/Intermediate/Advanced)

For students taking the School and College Ability Test (SCAT) required to qualify for enrollment in programs offered by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY). This course will take on a personalized approach to cover grade-appropriate concepts in the quantitative reasoning and verbal sections to ensure success on the SCAT test. The course will also cover test taking strategies, along with plenty of practice under timed conditions.

SSAT Prep Course (Elementary/Middle/Upper Levels)

For students taking the SSAT for US boarding school admissions, this course will take on a tailored approach to cover topics across the quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, reading comprehension and essay sections of the SSAT.
